What business advice do you have for those aspiring to become a Chief Executive Officer of a successful company?
For those aspiring to be a Chief Executive Officer, it is important to have confidence in your vision and the humility to know that you are just one part of an organization and will succeed or fail because of the contributions of others. All decisions should be based on what is best for the company not what is best for you or other individuals in the company. Harry Truman may have said it best when he said, “It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.”
What business books do you recommend that everyone read?
I read articles from the Harvard Business Review, and when it comes to business books, I find that many sports books offer similar, valuable lessons. Books like “The Boys in the Boat” or “Leading with the Heart” resonate with me because all successful businesses share a lot in common with good teams.
